Mitsubishi Electric Europe is one of the worlds leading manufacturers of Industrial Automation Systems, Energy and Electric Systems, Electronic Devices and Home Appliances. MEU employ 99,000 staff globally and have a turnover of £31 billion.
Logistics Solutions Europe Ltd undertook a detailed review of the European Supply Chain from product sourcing in the Far East through to final client delivery in Europe. As a result of this review across 5 Business Units a new Supply Chain strategy was agreed by Corporate Headquarters in Tokyo. LSE were subsequently retained to outsource the operations to a single 4PL Supplier and to implement the strategy across Europe.
As a result of the involvement of LSE warehouse locations across Europe were rationalised and cost savings of 25% were achieved. Inventory levels were reduced by 22% and service levels increase to in excess of 99% OTIF. Further initiatives developed by LSE included the development of Best Practise and the standardisation of Key Performance Indicators across Europe.
