Royal Mail Group plc is a public limited company wholly owned by the Government, with annual sales in excess of £8 billion and more than 200,000 employees.

Logistics Solutions Europe Ltd were commissioned on a Consultancy project to assess the Mail related services within the Financial Services Market covering Banks, Building Societies and Insurance Companies. The research was undertaken to enable Royal Mail to break into the sector by offering ‘Value-Added Services’.

An in-depth analysis by L.S.E. identified the Supply Chain spend of all Financial Services Companies split by activity, (archive storage, warehousing, fulfilment, distribution and mail room management etc). The study also included a detailed competitor SWOT analysis and market share information for other service providers within the industry.

As a result of the study L.S.E. prepared a detailed 3 year Business Plan for Royal Mail that enabled them to capitalise and develop into this new market sector.
